Samir Valiyev is a
Partner of the Baker
Tilly Azerbaijan and
lead partner for the
tax services
practice. During
1991-1996, he was
mastering the
accounting and
auditing at the
State Economic
University, which he
completed
successfully with
Honors Diploma.
Right after the
graduating, Samir
took the position of
the auditor with the
Ministry of Taxes of
the Azerbaijan
Republic. He
possesses wide
experience with the
statutory accounting
legislation, tax
advisory, financial
analysis and
business valuation.
In 2001, Samir
assumed the role of
the partner of Baker
Tilly Azerbaijan
with first role to
perform quality work
for local and
foreign clients
working in
Azerbaijan.

Ziya Ibrahimov, Partner |
Ziya Ibrahimov started as an Audit Manager at
Baker Tilly
Azerbaijan responsible for financial services industry practice in December 2007 and from October 2008 is a director of audit and assurance department. Ziya has graduated from the Midwestern State University Graduate School (Texas, USA) with MBA degree in 2002 and joined PricewaterhouseCoopers international audit firm in 2003 and has worked from associate to Assistant Manager till December 2007. In March 2007 he has became a member of internationally recognized accounting association ACCA. From 2003 to 2007 Ziya has participated in different projects within CIS, in particularly in Georgia, Russia and Ukraine. Ziya has extensive exposure on
IFRS audits of banking, insurance, leasing, telecommunication and retail industries.

Rustam Safaraliyev
started as an Audit

responsible for

industry practice in
August 2009 and from
October 2010 is a
director of audit
and assurance
department. He has a strong background in audit of energy, manufacturing, service and finance companies. Rustam has graduated from Azerbaijan State Economics University with bachelor degree in business administration and master degree in international economic relation. He also obtained statutory audit license in 2008. Rustam has started his audit career in Deloitte Azerbaijan in 2005 and has worked from associate to experienced senior till July 2009.
In August 2010 he
has became a member
of internationally
recognized
accounting
association ACCA. He has participated in the audit projects in Azerbaijan as well as outside of the country. |

Leyla Giyasova, Audit Manager

Leyla Giyasova has started as a Senior Associate at
Baker Tilly
Azerbaijan in March 2008 and since October 2008 has promoted to the audit manager. She has a strong back ground in audit of the finance companies. Leyla has graduated from Khazar University with master’s degree in business administration and currently is working on her ACCA qualification. Leyla has started her audit career in Deloitte Azerbaijan in 2004. She has participated in the audit projects in Azerbaijan as well as outside of the country. |

Azer Akbarov, Tax Manager |
Azer Akbarov is a Tax Manager at
Baker Tilly
Azerbaijan. Azer has four years experience in Deloitte. He joined Baker Tilly’s tax practice in January 2008. Azer has also prior experience in the field of banking, microfinance, NGO and mass media. Azer specializes in tax and legal consulting and international tax structuring. Azer’s work experience includes also secondment to other countries, where he had participated in projects relating to international tax planning for holding companies and other significant international tax projects. Azer also provided tax support for audit engagements in the banking sector, in the oil and gas sector, as well as in manufacturing and service industries.
